Section 24-33.5-1807
School safety resource center cash fund
(1)
There is hereby created in the state treasury the school safety resource center cash fund, referred to in this section as the “fund”. The fund shall consist of:(a)
Such moneys as the general assembly may appropriate to the fund;(b)
Gifts, grants, and donations received by the department pursuant to subsection (2) of this section; and(c)
Any moneys that the center receives as fees charged to attendees of a training program or conference, as described in section 24-33.5-1808.(2)
The department is authorized to solicit and accept gifts, grants, and donations from public and private sources for the purposes of this part 18; except that the department may not accept a gift, grant, or donation that is subject to conditions that are inconsistent with this section or any other law of the state. All moneys collected by the department pursuant to this subsection (2) shall be transmitted to the state treasurer, who shall credit the same to the fund.(3)
Except as otherwise provided in subsection (6) of this section, the money in the fund is subject to annual appropriation by the general assembly to the department for the direct and indirect costs associated with implementing this part 18. Any money in the fund not expended for the purposes of this part 18 may be invested by the state treasurer as provided by law. All interest and income derived from the investment and deposit of money in the fund shall be credited to the fund.(4)

Except as otherwise provided in subsection (6) of this section, the department is authorized to expend money from the fund for the purposes of this part 18.(b)
The department may expend up to two percent of the money annually appropriated from the fund, not including money credited to the school security disbursement program account pursuant to subsection (6) of this section, to offset the costs incurred in implementing this part 18.(5)
Any unexpended and unencumbered moneys remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall remain in the fund and shall not be credited or transferred to the general fund or another fund.(5.5)
Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, on June 30, 2020, the state treasurer shall transfer one million dollars from the fund to the general fund.(6)
and (7) Repealed.
