C.R.S. Section 33-1-104
General duties of commission


(1)

The commission is responsible for all wildlife management, for licensing requirements, and for the promulgation of rules, regulations, and orders concerning wildlife programs.

(2)

The commission shall establish objectives within the state policy, as set forth in section 33-1-101, which will enable the division to develop, manage, and maintain sound programs of hunting, fishing, trapping, and other wildlife-related outdoor recreational activities. Such objectives shall employ a multiple-use concept of management.

(3)

The commission shall report to the executive director at such times and on such matters as the executive director may require. Publications of the commission circulated in quantity outside the division shall be subject to the approval and control of the executive director.

(4)

Whenever the commission receives a dollar amount certification from the board of county commissioners of an eligible county pursuant to part 3 of article 25 of title 30, C.R.S., it shall review such certification, determine the amount to be certified to the general assembly, and certify said amounts pursuant to part 3 of article 25 of title 30, C.R.S.

(5)

The commission may coordinate with the United States secretary of the interior and the United States secretary of agriculture to develop wildlife conservation and management plans consistent with this title for federal lands pursuant to 16 U.S.C. sec. 530, 16 U.S.C. sec. 1604, and 43 U.S.C. sec. 1712.
