Restroom survey of state-owned buildings

(1)

(a)

The department of personnel shall complete a survey and provide it to the general assembly and the capital development committee determining the number and locations of signs that need to be replaced or modified pursuant to section 9-5.7-103 (3) for existing restrooms across all buildings wholly or partially owned by the state.

(b)

For a building that is wholly or partially owned or leased by the state or a state agency, if signage is needed at either the restroom location or the directory, a public entity that is a state agency or a state institution of higher education shall provide information on the number and locations of signs that need to be modified and may request state funding subject to available appropriations in order to comply with section 9-5.7-103 (3) to the state architect.

(2)

The department of personnel shall provide an interim report to the general assembly and the capital development committee by January 1, 2024, and a final report by July 1, 2024.

(3)

For purposes of complying with section 9-5.7-103 (3), the department of personnel shall prioritize the placement of signage in buildings or portions of buildings that are accessible to the public.
