(a)

The department shall direct resources toward publicizing the existence of:

(I)

The teacher recruitment education and preparation program established in section 22-35-108.5;

(II)

The teacher residency programs available through the teacher residency expansion program created in part 1 of article 60.3 of this title 22;

(III)

Programs to support paraprofessionals, as defined in section 22-60.3-102, who are seeking a baccalaureate degree to pursue a professional teaching license;

(IV)

The educator recruitment and retention program created in section 22-60.3-202;

(V)

The adjunct instructor authorization described in section 22-60.5-111 (2);

(VI)

Alternative teacher programs described in section 22-60.5-205;

(VII)

The teacher of record program described in section 22-60.5-208.7;

(VIII)

Programs for student teachers in rural areas operated pursuant to section 23-76-104;

(IX)

The teacher cadet program described in section 23-76-105;

(X)

Teaching fellowship programs operated pursuant to part 3 of article 78 of title 23;

(XI)

The educator loan forgiveness program operated pursuant to section 23-3.9-102; and

(XII)

Other existing public or nonprofit programs that facilitate entry into the teaching profession.

(b)

In publicizing the programs, the department shall collaborate with nonprofit organizations that support entry into the teaching profession.

(2)

The department shall provide technical support to school districts, boards of cooperative services, and charter schools to assist them in accessing the programs described in subsection (1) of this section and in otherwise recruiting individuals to pursue teaching careers.
